What does the Bible say on children   . . .

Questions:

  1. What is it like to raise children?
  2. What suggestions can you provide to parents and grandparents?
  3. How did Jesus treat children?
  4. What spiritual teachings should be taught to young children?
  5. How do we become “like little children”, and why should we do this?

Matthew 18:3  (NIV):
3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children,
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 19:13-14  (NIV):          The Little Children and Jesus
13 Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and
pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Luke 18:16 (NIV):
16 But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Matthew 10:40-42 (NIV):
40 "He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who
      sent me.
41 Anyone who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's
reward, and anyone who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man
will receive a righteous man's reward.
42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because
he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."

Mark 10:13-16 (NIV):           The Little Children and Jesus
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples
     rebuked them.
14 When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come
to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
15 I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child
      will never enter it."
16 And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
